Alison+Cary’s Cold, Snowy E-Session-Portrait Photographer-Greensboro, North Carolina

The temps were barely above freezing and a light snow fell intermittently during their E-session, but Alison and Cary never complained once.  In fact, at one time in the middle of the session, I heard Alison say, “I’m having so much fun!” I think the images below are a good indication of the fun they were having and also show how relaxed and comfortable they are as a couple.

After spending some time shooting in a Greensboro Park we headed over to Natty Greene’s for the couple to warm up with a cup of coffee and a couple of drinks. It was a super fun session and Frayed Edge is looking forward to shooting Alison’s bridal portraits and their wedding in the fall!! So you’ll be seeing more of these two in the future!!

Mother and Son Session-High Point Portrait Photographer-Fall Portraits

If you follow our blog, you know how much I love to photograph related pairs (mom/daughters, mother/sons, sisters/brothers, etc. This shoot is no exception. Frayed Edge recently had the opportunity to photograph this mother and son as they were transitioning into a new chapter in their lives. They both share a keen sense of humor and a very close bond which made the shoot both comfortable and fun. Here are a few of my personal favs:

Jake’s Senior Session-Greensboro Portrait Photographer-Fast and Furious Session

Frayed Edge had the  pleasure meeting Jake recently and shooting his senior portraits. He is good friends with Zach whose portraits we did a couple of months ago.  Our session with Jake was fast and furious since he was squeezing his portrait session in before a basketball game. I didn’t even have time to switch cameras or lenses, but Jake says that’s how he rolls. Seriously, we shot for 15 minutes. OMGeez. BAM.

Jake plans on pursuing a degree in youth ministry once he graduates high school. We wish him the best!!

Here are a few of my favorites from his fast and furious session.

Smoky Mountain Wedding-Stephanie+Jimmy-North Carolina Wedding Photographer

Stephanie and Jimmy are the most adorable couple ever. Frayed Edge had the honor of shooting their engagement session and during the short time  we spent with them, it was clear that this couple is completely devoted to one another. They are both so comfortable and secure in their relationship, that it spilled over into their engagement shoot as well as their wedding day. Jimmy and Stephanie were married at the Smoky Mountain Mansion in Robbinsville, North Carolina, and despite the 102 degree temperatures in the mountains on June 30, (so unusual) this couple rocked it out big time and their guests seemed to love every minute of it. We had such a fabulous time and enjoyed sharing this special day with them both.

North Carolina-Virginia Wedding Photographer-Recent Publication in Virginia Bride Magazine

Frayed Edge is proud to be among the talented  photographers featured in the current issue of VirginiaBride magazine. The Frayed Edge layout is from one of our favorite weddings between two of our favorite people – Megan and Topper – who tied the knot on top of a mountain in southwest Virginia.  It’s always rather rewarding to get a little recognition, even if what we did to get it was as much play as it was work. And what better keepsake for a bride than to have her wedding showcased in a magazine?

Hold on to your copies, Megan. Your grandkids will love to see them one day.
